One of my top ten favorite films -- and definitely my favorite from the 40's decade. I will admit the title is misleading, but anyone that was a fan of Russell, or Simone, will/would have appreciated the story and good acting put forth in this.
As a little girl, I used to count on my chalkboard the way Amy and Irena do in this. I also hummed the tune Irena sings throughout the movie, and had a shooting star brooch just like the Christmas gift.
