Review of The Crying Game (1992) by Miranda P — 30 Jul 2008
I can't help it...it's in my nature...
This is probably the drama-suspense-film that I would put on my top list for essential movies. I loved it since the first time I saw it an everytime I see it I discover something new about it... Neil Jordan's misunderstood masterpiece, made with a true love dedication to human emotion and the true nature of the human heart. The actors portray such subtle, secretive characters (I was especially moved by Miranda Richardson's icy, seductive IRA-vamp whose true nature is revealed in glimpses of short moments). Visually, this is a film that is very 1992, but it is in a good way.
