I enjoyed this film. It captures the madness and the mania of Salem and its ludicrous witch trials in a provocative way; ensuring emotions of disgust, frustration, anger and compassion. Day-Lewis is typically impressive as one of the few sparks of reason amongst all the superstitious insanity.
It also works to good effect as a parody of the equally chilling and ridiculous 'antics' of the Cold War era; its very own 'witch hunts' and paranoia.
