Review of The Crucible (1996) by Robbie H — 29 Oct 2010
A very well done adaptation of the play...the film will stir your emotions for 2 hours...Daniel Day-Lewis does a tremendous job here...easy to see why he is regarded as one of the great all time actors.
..his scene towards the end will stick with you long after the movies over...Joan Allen does a perfect job and Elizabeth Proctor..she was amazing and well deserving of her oscar nom.....Paul Scofield also gives a perfect performance as the judge.
..some amazing acting talent in this film...even those with no interest in the story or history would enjoy watching these actors perform together...Winona Ryder..gosh she really makes you hate her character for what she does to the town.
.she is pretty much annoying the whole time...a full blown dramatic emotional experience.
