Review of The Crow: Wicked Prayer (2005) by Drew H — 28 Apr 2012
The casting of John Connor from T2 has made one interestingly brilliant comeback for the fourth time. The story takes place in a polluted mining town on an Indian reservation about Jimmy Cuervo played by Edward Furlong who is murdered along with his girlfriend Lily by a group of Satanists who hope to conjure the rebirth of the Antichrist.
When the local Indian myth about the crow reawakening the dead comes true happens to Jimmy, he seeks revenge on those satanists that killed him and his girlfriend and dumped his body. Greatly casted that includes Tara Reid from American Pie, Western classic Danny Trejo as Lily's dad (think about it: Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Machete, he's starred in like half of Robert Rodriguez's movies), Dennis Hopper as a Satanic brother named El Nino (may he R.
I.P.) and UFC fighter Tito Ortiz and many more. This sequel brings back the violence and gore the first film had but in a new style as it's a modern-time sequel and the soundtrack is emotionally haunting just like the first crow movie starring Brandon Lee but it doesn't match up to that film even though this is the best sequel so far.
The Crow- Wicked Prayer gets a decent 8/10.
