Review of The Crow: City of Angels (1996) by Joe A — 13 Feb 2010
Unfairly criticized because it could never equal the first film, sequel is actually not that bad and creates it's own look and feel. Vincent Perez tries to create his own character despite a heavy accent but admittingly doesn't achieve the same level of mystique or charisma Brandon lee did.
Director Tim Pope tries to make his own movie and to a degree is successful. The film does have it's problems, though, Pope is not as adept at getting livelier performances out of his cast and Kirshner especially comes across very wooden as the grown up Sarah from the first film.
The bad guys aren't as effective either, although, Iggy Pop is... Iggy Pop. Still, considering what it was trying to live up to, it's a decent flick.
