Review of The Crow (1994) by Peter H — 19 Jun 2011
I now know what Daredevil was trying to be.
This comic book adaptation by director Alex Proyas (Dark City, I, Robot) may be a simple revenge tale, but it is a satisfying one, and its dark imagery is impressive.
Brandon Lee may have had trouble shouldering the emotional weight of the character, but he had an athletic grace and way of moving that was unique and interesting to watch. I was sad to hear he died in an accident during filming, though, to the credit of the production team, I did not notice while I was watching.
I was also sad to see that the film has several sequels and a spin-off television series. Like Highlander and The Exorcist, this is a pretty good film, but one is enough.
