Review of The Crow (1994) by Nikkoda T — 23 Aug 2012
For Brandon Lee's last film, it certainly set new heights for comic-book movies. The Crow follows a young man and his girlfriend who were killed by thugs for complaints about eviction notices. After a year has passed by, the young man, known as Eric Draven, is brought back to life so he can take revenge on those who had wronged him in the past.
The Crow is stylish for it's dark tone (both setting and mood), it's unique style, and the great lead of Brandon Lee. The way it attracts you to the film is mostly the dark tone, which, done in a comic book movie, has not been done very well.
The action sequences are creative and entertaining. The acting is a little hokey but nonetheless memorable. And the setting and environment creates the dark mood, being in a city where crime runs rampant.
This movie is memorable for the dark tone, the great characters, and it's style that sets itself from other films. A truly great comic book movie.
