Review of The Crow (1994) by Steve R — 08 Jan 2013
An excellent dark and stylish flick with the beautiful performance of the late Brandon Lee. Based on the epic graphic novel by James O' Barr, this fantasy follows a rock musician named Eric Draven (Lee) who is murdered along with his fiancee, Shelly by a group of very over the top thugs who terrorize the city. A year after the day of his death which happened to be Devil's night, a crow appears on Eric's grave and Eric is ressurected with a bird as his guide on a mission to avenge himself and his fiancee.
The film is dark, violent, vulgar, explicit and extremely edgy. My type of movie. This film is a comic movie that is very closely bordering between comic movie and horror movie. The performances are excellent and the camera is great. The script isn't awful and the ending is bittersweet at the most. Be sure to check it out!
