Review of The Crimson Rivers (2000) by Terry W — 17 Jul 2009
Kassovitz's name will one day be revered amongst the directing greats. He's stylish but subtle; the kind of director I tend to prefer. You barely know he's there, and his work simply speaks for itself.
Reno and Cassel pull off an amusing dynamic between them, lending moments of humor to what is a fairly dark thriller. This gripping, complex thriller is both visually impressive and thematically compelling.
Definitely the best thriller I've seen in quite a while.
