Review of The Crazies (1973) by Gabriel K — 23 Feb 2014
While it has it's moments, and I enjoy the raw 70s feel of the proceedings, this feels like a lesser zombie flick from George A. Romero without the subtext and without the actual zombies. All the elements in this film that make up the plot and the subtext and themes were executed better by Romero in each of his "Living Dead" films.
Like I said, there are things that work in this low budget horror/action flick, but it doesn't work entirely.
