(1972) The Cowboys.
WESTERN.
Not the best John Wayne Western I had ever saw nor is it the worst! A toss up and very divided in terms of what I've seen already involving John Wayne Westerns showcasing him as Wil Anderson needing some hired help of moving cattle leaving him with little option but to turn to some school children for the job! Underaged males from the oldest being 15 and the youngest 13 years eventually managed to convince Wayne that they're capable to handle this cattle job as any of the men do! One of the problems even though John Wayne's hard stance on life is still in check, is that the conversing between Wayne and the boys can tend to drag since viewers had already aware about the rapport being built! What and why do we need to see more of it when something hyserical can happen instead! Upon watching this film through the last three forths of the movie, I just stared at the screen without any real reaction since I knew waht to expect such as the bad men attempting to take over Wes's cattle since he hired a bunch of underaged kids for instance! What viewers saw from this film, doesn't really encourage viewers to check this one out again, not when they're other John Wayne westerns which're far more entertaining than this one!
2.5 out of 4.
