Review of The Counterfeiters (2007) by Ojas V — 30 Aug 2008
This was a great film about a jewish counterfeit artist who is sent to a concentration camp to make fake money. Although he and his fellow jewish print makers live better lives than the jews outside their studio, they are faced with the dilemma of surviving by printing counterfeit dollars and funding the nazi war effort, or standing up against their captors.
It never gets too schmaltzy, but as other films about the nazi concentration camps, it brings a harrowing realism to the situation.
