Review of The Corporation (2003) by Michael Y — 02 Jan 2010
Rating applies to the DVD (non-theatrical version). This documentary gives a pretty good explanation of the increasing role (and manipulations) that corporations have in our daily lives.
Although slanted (the poltical-left will be in agreement with much of this film), it is definitely thought-proking. One of the most interesting sound-bites/one-liners in movie concerns that if corporations were *truly* analyzed as people (via extensions to the 14th Amendment), the description they would be given is "Psychotic" according to the DSM.
However, despite the slanted and pessimistic portrayal in the theatrical version, it is interesting to note that after viewing all the deleted scenes and interviews, it then becomes more balanced, imho.
