Review of The Corporation (2003) by Tomariah S — 03 Sep 2010
A good documentary about the history of the corporate business world, and the hold it has over our everyday lives... for some of us, we can compare and remember a simpler time, where we made our own decisions, and could stand behind them... BUT for most of us, we are brought up in a world that is controlled by the public relations machine, where the bottom-line is all that matters, and the choices we think we are making, are actually already made for us, because the corporate machine uses technology and psychology to manipulate our subconsciousness into buying whatever they have to sell...
The most disturbing aspect of this machine, is that they target us as children, so that we will be faithful consumers when we become adults, without question.... the other disturbing aspect, is that people view the corporations as an actual human being, and seem to forget that people who work FOR the corporation makes the corporation what it is, and we all have a moral and social responsibility to act and consume ethically..... but is it even possible to be ethically-minded all the time as an inhabitant in the western world?? I didnt think it was before viewing this movie, and in all honesty, I still dont think it is.... the corporations should be monitored and be held accountable by elected officials, who rule our countries, and these officials should be held accountable by us, the voters.. cause right now, corporations seem to be out of control, and in a continuous chase after our money!!
