Review of The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) by Chase J — 06 Dec 2007
Beauty embraces the grotesque. The collaboration that occurs in this film amongst every aspect of production is astounding. The performances are stunning across the board, but Helen Mirren and Michael Gambon are specifically fantastic.
Peter Greenaway's masterpiece. A true arthouse film that captivates and fails to bore. You've never seen anything like this before.
