Review of The Conversation (1974) by Jordan L — 16 Aug 2008
Really just one of the most engrossing films ever made. A truly unique American film that exists purely in details. Someone suggested this movie was an homage to Antonioni's Blow-Up. I think that might be an accurate statement.
It works on many of the same levels. A truly rewarding film with a fantastic conclusion. Gene Hackman drives the film in what might be his greatest performance. A film that poses so many thought-provoking questions about everything from privacy to humanity itself.
A really extraordinary film.
