Review of The Conversation (1974) by James J — 23 Apr 2011
How do you follow up 'The Godfather'? Well, in Francis Ford Coppola's case, you do it with a smart, tense, psychological, pseudo-religious surveillance thriller, one that's as masterfully directed as his previous films.
This does pretty much everything right. My only beef is that sections near the middle tend to drag. That's a small gripe in a really well-written and well-directed film.
