Review of The Conversation (1974) by Jacob K — 14 Sep 2011
Coppola's movie in between the Godfathers is a very well done piece on a surveillance expert and his conscience. Gene Hackman turns in another splendid performance. It's easy now to forget what a great actor he is but I've seen him in three 70s era classics this year ("The French Connection," "Night Moves" and this) where he's just been amazing.
A well done, well shot movie.
