Review of The Conversation (1974) by Gareth H — 17 Nov 2011
Conversation its a product of its time. We get to watch patiently with Harry (Gene Hackman) the subjects of his surveillance's stories unfold. Coppola uses sound distortion to put the viewer on edge & make us concentrate on every word thats said.
Like Hitchcock's Rear Window we learn so much about the characters through visual signatures, rather than it being spoon feed to us.
