Review of The Conversation (1974) by Bryn D — 19 Sep 2013
There's no moment between human beings that can not be recorded and no method that can not be figured out. A private operator is hired to secretly record a man and woman conversing as they walk through a busy San Francisco square like a pair of lovers.
Who hired him to watch them, the justice department or the I.R.S.? It's unclear. When he goes to submit the tapes to his client, one of his client's affiliates tries to intercept the delivery.
He refuses to leave the tapes and begins to replay them over and over only to suspect the two may soon be victims of a murder. While the concept has the possibility of being brilliant, the movie was boring.
It required the patience of reading a book. The 2.4 rating in Netflix is accurate.
