Review of The Constant Gardener (2005) by Byron B — 06 May 2014
It took a little while to adjust to the nonlinear storyline. The romance between Justin Quayle (Fiennes) and Tessa (Weisz) did not grab a hold of me, but it became much more interesting as the suspense built around Justin investigating the government/drug corporation corruption.
What the camera captures of this Kenyan village is a unique view of life. The rhyming stage play performed in an ensemble mode about the AIDs epidemic in Africa was a great touch. The DVD contains the full performance.
It is about a woman who challenges the status quo and her mild-mannered husband who puts himself in harm's way to uncover the truth and bring justice to the issue.
