Review of The Conjuring 2 (2016) by Tony T — 16 Sep 2016
The Conjuring 2 is a surprisingly strong horror sequel. James Wan is an expert when it comes to horror, and it shows here. Every scene is directed beautifully. He is a master at his craft. The film also features very strong performances.
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are very strong as the Warrens. They delivered like they did in the last film. I also really enjoyed the family in the film. The kid acting was surprisingly good. The film delivers some great scares throughout the film.
From a demonic spirit to a creep nun, this film has it all. The film takes horror cliches and twists them. Also, the doesn't have any annoying fake jump scares. The jump scares are real and actually scary.
Overall, the film delivers as much as the first film. While it was a little overlong, the film has great characters and good scares.
