Review of The Conformist (1971) by Igor Y — 21 Oct 2008
This film was beautiful. Not only did it look great but I think the sound made me really feel. The quietness of the scene in the woods and then the end scene with his blind comrade were both shocking. I can also admit that though the sexually related scenes were very tame they were thrilling and disturbing at the same time.
The simplicity of this film was amazing. I wish I had watched it with... I loved it.
