Review of The Conformist (1971) by Rob S — 25 Mar 2011
Wow. a hell of a film. I only downloaded it because i'd heard the name bertolucci a lot. great script, characters, music, and obviously the cinematography is out of this world. there are these little occasional departures into pure symbolism (like PT Anderson has done since) that could have failed miserably, but simply work.
theres also that blend of personal and political thats so hard to pull off, but makes for great art.
