Review of The Conformist (1971) by Geonard Y — 28 Mar 2007
Interesting character study about a fascist ordered to kill his ex-professer who happens to be a politcal refugee. 'The Conformist' is not the average movie. It's a character study that felt like it couldn't decide what it's focal point was.
It would go from plot, to character, from plot, to caracter. I watched the extended edition, so I believe this is why I feel this way. There are a lot of useless events in this film, so it really should have been 1h30m at least.
The acting isn't anything super special. I would give this a 6 of 10. It could have been much better.
