Review of The Company You Keep (2012) by Ray H — 12 Jul 2014
The movie was mildly entertaining. It's supposed to be a political thriller. The story is OK. But, there really was not much tension generated. Our hero, Jim Grant (Robert Redford) is on the run. He is a wanted fugitive. He has been in hiding for decades. An ambitious reporter, Ben (Shia LeBeouf), finds him out, and the hunt is on.
The story never really drew me in. However, it did hold my interest. I liked watching Redford and LaBeouf work. But, we were never worried about Jim's ability to out fox the long arm of the law. LaBeouf is pretty good in this role. The rest of the supporting cast is OK. There are a few interesting turns in the plot.
It was an OK trip to the flics.
