Review of The Company of Wolves (1984) by Victoria R — 19 Jun 2007
This is worth 1000 Pan's Labyrinths! Far more shocking, imaginative and strange. A beautiful interpretation of Angela Carter's The Bloody Chamber. So dense in its atmosphere: lyrical, seductive and unnerving.
It concerns all the things I love about fairy tales. Everything has a hand made, clock work feel as though the fairy tale world within the film is made from children's toys.
