Review of The Company of Wolves (1984) by Paul J — 20 Nov 2008
From sexual metaphors to metaphors about sex, this film has it all! The Company of Wolves (1984) is some pretentious shit that has over the years become remotely fantasized as something far greater than it could ever be.
Despite its few decent scenes, the film accomplished very little, taking one small metaphor and drawing it out to cover a full length feature. The use of a dream sequence is an interesting idea, showing us the subconscious of our protagonist, but without a real life perspective we have no knowledge of her outside the dream, limiting character attachment considerably.
