Review of The Company of Wolves (1984) by Jenn S — 08 Nov 2005
'The Company of Wolves' is a different style of horror film, with a disturbing twist about the children's story, 'Little Red Riding Hood.' Maybe that is why this film is particularly disturbing.
'The Company of Wolves' has very suggestive and sexual undertones contrasting with the innocence of the young girl while men who come of age turn into wolves. A lot of the film is characterised by slightly suggestive scenes and events.
This is the type of film that is disturbing but that also makes you think. It is more of an exploration through horror film. It is engaging and original. I would recommend it if you're into this sort of film, but don't expect a great movie. It just doesn't go that extra magic to make a classic.
