Review of The Company Men (2010) by Bill D — 30 Jun 2011
Entertaining enough drama that opts for a one-sided approach to corporate shenanigans and delivers a message as heavy-handed as a bumper sticker. Affleck, Jones and Bello are effective as the disaffected suits caught up in the downsizing but their contribution is buried under the wheels of the 'life goes on' propaganda machine.
However, its a crisp and brisk production which never flags despite the weight of it theme and could have been much better if it hadn't ladled it on with a trowel.
