Review of The Comancheros (1961) by Bruce S — 21 Feb 2010
A bit of a mixed bag. Great cinematography, but surprisingly weak art direction, it?s period detail is unimpressive, but the location filming is exceptional. John Wayne gives his usual wooden performance but Lee Marvin and Stuart Whitman do a good job.
Ina Balin is bland as the female interest and is a curious choice for the role. Good editing, fine direction and writing.
