Review of The Color Purple (1985) by Matt M — 19 Jan 2013
This film, which follows the hard and difficult life of a young African American woman, is a film full of love for the cause, but at the end of the day it isn't very socially relevant and doesn't stand like neither a faithful portrayal of the first post slavery generation nor a manifesto against racial discrimination.
Whoopi Goldberg in her debut on the big screen plays a difficult role with extreme care.
