Emotional film about a young woman who is forced to marry a brutal man. She becomes his slave and he regularly beats her. The years go by before she stands up for herself and flees to live the life she is owed.
She returns to her childhood home and enjoys life with her friends. Powerful performances throughout especially whoopi goldberg. Enjoyed.
