Review of The Color Out of Space (2014) by Ken S — 12 Aug 2015

German, black & white, HP Lovecraft adaptation that is pretty solid overall, if you like a good Lovecraftian story. I think the black and white served a good purpose in two ways, it sort of helps hide the flaws in cheaper special effects, and when the story relies somewhat on the alien creatures being essentially color.

..so when the only thing in the movie in color is the alien, it makes it a little more effective. I wouldn't say it is my favorite Lovecraft adaptation, but I did enjoy it.
