Review of The Color of Paradise (1999) by Deepak M — 23 Feb 2010
[Language: Farsi] One thing I have noticed about all the Iranian films I have watched is that they deal with mundane aspects of life. Maybe that's because that's all the regime there allows. The beauty of this film is that the roles are performed mostly by non-professional actors.
The landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, and that's surprising, considering that the general impression about Iran is that it is all desert. The story is good, but not extraordinary. Worth a watch, if you're into world cinema.
