Review of The Color of Money (1986) by Kelly B — 29 Sep 2008
Easily one of the best sequels of all time! Newman is great in his reprisal of "Fast" Eddie Felson, and I can't imagine anyone other than Tom Cruise playing Vince. Martin Scorsese's direction is spot-on, and the only thing negative I have to say is looking back now, it definitely has a 80's feel, which sometimes works for it, and sometimes against it. Also, if anyone ever deserved a Oscar it was Newman, and his performance was excellent! However, I still stand by my review for, "Children of a Lesser God" when I say William Hurt didn't deserve to lose.
William Hurt: " I didn't deserve that.".
Paul Newman: " Yes you did.".
Anyone who's seen, "the Color of Money" should find that pretty amusing.
