Review of The Color of Money (1986) by Logan L — 26 Jan 2012
I've said this a few times about Scorsese movies, but if this were in anyone else's hands, I know I wouldn't have liked it as much. Scorsese definitely has the Midas touch. His actors give fantastic, real performances, his floating, restless camera and fantastic shots and angles make for an entertaining visual pic, and his taste and handling of story is perfect.
No, it's probably not as good as The Hustler, Scorsese himself will be the first to tell you that, but it gets pretty damn close. A hell of a lot closer than just about anyone else could get with a sequel.
