Review of The Cocoanuts (1929) by Shane P — 21 Jul 2008
This is their first talkie. So, it's still mired in producers not knowing what to do with them. There's a lot of subplot and random songs and dance numbers that don't include the Marx Brothers-which is just a misunderstanding that you've got to just give these guys the whole movie to chew up.
But, still, there's some incredible moments. The Why A Duck routine between Chico and Groucho is in this one.
