Review of The Cobbler (2014) by Eric B — 21 Sep 2015
This is the first tom McCarthy film I didn't love, I especially enjoyed his "The Station Agent" and "The Visitor." The tone of this film is a bit off, it's fantasy, comedy, but also a bit dark and violent and it's really tough to make that work.
I thought Sandler was ok in it and was generally entertained, I was just in the right mood for it, I was tired and not feeling very critical and it moved along quickly enough. I also liked Melonie Diaz in her limited role.
Give it a try if in the right mood, but you could do worse and the 9% RT score is misleading in my opinion.
