Review of The Cloverfield Paradox (2018) by Josh V — 05 Feb 2018
Absolutely terrific film on all levels. A bit predictable in a few spots, but not so much so as to take away from the enjoyment of the moment. Solid, characters, well developed motivations and stakes, and very high concept mind bending sci-fi.
I absolutely adore this film and think it is an absolutely terrific addition to the franchise. Answering a few questions and asking all new ones on top of that that make me crave more. Do not listen to the mainstream "Critics".
They are clearly politically driven to crap on this film because of what it represents to the audience and the future of filmmaking and what that is is a MAJOR upset to the status quo. Similar to Bright, The Cloverfield Paradox offers a big budget, quality film experience that used to only be available in cinemas, now you can get it' immediately on demand through a streaming site like Netflix.
And with the film dropping on the same day as the trailer, the instantanious satisfaction of appeasing the early hype from seeing the trailer is sure to be a successful enough model that it will have Hollywood shitting their pants with fear.
Because they have lost all relevance at this point.
