Review of The Clock (1945) by Andrew P — 23 Feb 2008
A short, yet fast-paced and enjoyable romantic-drama, which jumps straight into the heart of the story of Joe, a soldier on leave from the War for 48hrs, and Alice, a Manhattan girl who leads an ordinary life, who meet and fall in love (and marriage) in the space of two days.
Judy Garland is fantastic as always as the delectable Alice, and Minnelli uses the bustling nature of New York to portray the characters emotions perfectly. My only gripe? I could only obtain an old, choppy print.
