Review of The Class (2007) by Cam M — 07 Aug 2009
One of the finest films of the year no doubt, its so real and engaging. This is real life full of small failures and small achievements. Yet no matter how much it feels like your watching a documentary itâ??s not cold or unemotional.
We follow the classroom life (all scenes take place on school grounds) of Mr.Begaudeau as he tries to teach and connect with his students. All the acting seems really natural and never out of place. Itâ??s a refreshing to see this kind of story about teaching.
He doesnâ??t profoundly change lives (that we see) or become to mentor to all these kids. Mr. Begaudeau struggles to understand these teens, we feel his joy his betrayal and his struggle to balance teaching with human connection.
One of the best films I have seen about teaching ever. Excellent film.
