Review of The Citadel (1938) by Christine R — 19 Jul 2010
Great story. Robert Donat is excellent as a young doctor ready to face any challenge to make a difference. As he struggles and suffers he gives in to pressures to take the easy path in life, and trouble ensues.
Ralph Richardson is great as the best friend and conscience. Love the scene in the beginning where they blew up the sewer for the greater good of the town.
