Review of The Circus (1928) by Jarett B — 13 Mar 2008
It's pure Chaplin and contains all the usual laughs, but for some reason it doesn't stand up to his other classics in terms of heart. I would call this more of a 'pure slapstick', whereas, say, 'City Lights' is hilarious and deeply moving.
