Review of The Circus (1928) by Sarah K — 25 Jul 2007
My favorite movie of all movies. Wonderful, brilliant comedy all the way through. The plot is simple, the gags are fundamental, clever, and unexpected as only Chaplin can make them. The funniest moment: when the Tramp finds himself locked in a cage with a sleeping lion and a dog stops by and begins to bark and go nuts.
Who can forget Chaplin immitating an animatronic character? You couldn't tell the difference. Absolutely amazing material made by an amazing talent.
