Michael Caine is a fantastic actor, yet Chris Cooper, Wes Bentley, Haley Joel Osmoent, Michael Clarke Duncan, Tom Cruise, John Malkovich, Brad Pitt, Phillip Baker Hall and Jeremy Blackman all deserved Best Supporting Actor in 1999 ahead of him.
This film is overly sentimental and tries too hard.
