Review of The Chronicles of Riddick (2004) by Mark E — 06 Aug 2012
I don't know why so many people bash this movie. It definitely wasn't as good as the other, but it had a pretty engaging storyline, and a pretty darn good twist at the end. I personally think that Riddick had more character in this movie than in Pitch Black.
Vin Diesel wasn't very lively as Riddick, but that is what Riddick is supposed to be like. The Necromongers remind me a lot of the Ori from Stargate SG-1. One thing I didn't like about this movie tho, was how they seemed to steer away from Riddick's previous persona of a volatile convict, and try to make him more of a nice guy.
The special effects were decent, and the action was spectacular, but for some reason, the characters didn't feel like they were from the same movie. Some amazingly choreogaphed fights, too.
