Ah, the power of the threequel.Lately, I have noticed the trend that threequels are better than sequels, and this is a great example of that. I absolutely loved this adaptation. Dawn Treader was one of my favorite books, and this a great adaptation of it.

A lot of it is beautiful from a visual standpoint, especially all the islands near the end of the movie. It's great seeing Skandar Keynes (Edmund) step up, rather than playing second string to William Moseley's Peter.

At the same time, seeing Georgie Henley as Lucy actually get her hands dirty and start fighting. It was a nice change. I liked Ben Barnes, but this was not the same Caspian from the second movie. Which is odd, considering it's the same actor.

But the character itself was different. Even his accent was changed. In the last movie, he had this Mediterranean, Spainard thing going on, and in this movie, he uses his natural British accent. Which was really odd and distracting.

However, at least Barnes acting was good. Will Poulter is a great addition as Eustace, he's utterly obnoxious and perfect for it. As for the movie itself, it was quickly paced, and didn't really drag.

Yes, the allegories are painfully obvious throughout, but that is a trait of the entire book series. In the end though, I really liked it, and it made me wish that they had made the entire series.
