An entertaining cinematic adaptation. If you view the Narnia tales primarily as books of theology you might be disappointed. If you view them as children's stories with Christian themes interwoven you'll have a good time.
While the darker elements of the book weren't toned down there's a sense of charm and fun in these movies that I really like. It's nice to see a fantasy franchise that doesn't buckle under the weight of it's own ponderous mythology.
